An 80 year old Nonna’s recipe, straight from the Bologna Chamber of Commerce. This is seriously authentic, better-than-your-average bolognese. Pancetta sautéed until crispy with a soffrito of onion, celery, carrot then slow-cooked with pork mince, beef mince, red wine, milk, passata and herbs.

Pork (mince & pancetta), beef mince, red wine, tomatoes, milk, celery, carrots, onions, butter, olive oil, nutmeg, salt, pepper.

Reheating

Defrost and transfer to a covered saucepan, then slowly simmer until piping hot. Or, simply reheat in a microwave.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with your favourite pasta, we like something grippy try gnocchi sardi or radiatori for something different. Or parpadelle for something classic.
