Our slow-cooked Greek Stifado is anything but stiff. It’s fall apart, generous pieces of beef, cooked in a traditional Cypriat mix of herbs and spices including bay leaves, all spice, cinnamon, oregano, red wine and shallots. It’s a best-seller on almost every taverna you’ll find in Greece.
Ingredients: Beef, baby onions, chopped tomatoes, olive oil, tomato purée, garlic, bay leaves, dried herbs (allspice berries, cloves, cinnamon, oregano, salt), red wine, red wine vinegar.
Reheating: Defrost and transfer to a covered saucepan, then slowly simmer until piping hot. Or, simply reheat in a microwave. Serve with rice or mash.
